1. Pre-Production (1-2 weeks):
· Initial consultation: 60‑min confidential call with our story director (no cost)
· Trauma‑informed intake: Questionnaire covering sensitive topics, triggers, and boundaries
· Family systems overview: Client provides family map (who is safe to include, who is not)
· Custom question development: Interview questions designed to avoid re‑traumatization
· Release agreement: Standard release with optional omission clause
2. Production (2 weeks typical):
· Session 1: Core narrative: 3‑hour interview covering the difficult history at client’s pace
· Session 2: Deep dive & reflection: 2‑3 hour follow‑up session (next day or within a week)
· Optional Session 3: 1‑2 hours for additional family member (if needed; see add‑on)
· Filming of artifacts: Photos, letters, documents — filmed separately
· Break options: Client can pause or stop any question at any time
We do not include a therapist on set, but our interviewers are trained in trauma‑informed practices (de‑escalation, pacing, consent to continue.)3. Post-Production (4-6 weeks):

2. Production (4–6 weeks, paced):
· Session 1: Individual grounding: 2 hours — solo interview with primary storyteller, establishing safety and trust
· Session 2: Key narrative: 2–3 hours — deep dive into the central story (trauma, loss, estrangement, etc.)
· Session 3: Supporting voices: 2 hours — interview with spouse, adult child, or sibling (if appropriate and consensual)
· Session 4: Reflection & closure: 1–2 hours — optional second session with primary storyteller to fill gaps or reframe
· Session 5: Family integration: 2 hours — joint session (e.g., parent and adult child) guided by therapist, filmed if all agree
· Filming of artifacts: Photos, letters, heirlooms — filmed separately (no pressure on storyteller)

We require a complimentary consultation to assess fit. If Story Surgery+ is not right, we may recommend standard Story Surgery ($8,500) or a referral to a therapist first.
