Bobby J Brown is a professional actor and former world champion boxer based in New York, best known for his recurring roles as Officer Bobby Brown in HBO's groundbreaking series The Wire and as Ira Weiner in the Emmy Award-winning miniseries The Corner. With extensive credits spanning television, film, and theater, Bobby brings authentic intensity and raw authenticity to every performance.

Born in Washington, DC, Bobby's unique journey from professional boxing champion to acclaimed actor sets him apart in Hollywood. With a professional boxing record of 71 wins and 13 losses, including three memorable bouts against former Olympic and World Champion Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker, Bobby transitioned from the ring to the stage after training at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.

Beyond acting, Bobby has established himself as an accomplished documentary filmmaker. His directorial debut, Off the Chain (2005), shed light on the misunderstanding and abuse of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Demonstrating his commitment to social causes, Bobby donated one-third of the sales to the Humane Society of the United States to protect the breed. His second documentary, Tear the Roof Off: The Untold Story of Parliament-Funkadelic, explores the history of one of music's greatest funk bands and is currently available on Amazon Prime.
